About

Advice written for kitchen-table decisions

Stonegate Financial Review grew from years of sitting with clients who had competent careers and incomplete paperwork — pensions from three employers, cover that never matched the mortgage, and a vague sense that retirement was approaching faster than the plan.

Why we exist

UK financial advice can feel either sales-led or impenetrably technical. We aim for a third path: clear written positions, fees agreed in advance, and recommendations that name the trade-offs rather than hide them.

Our work stays close to ordinary British household questions — whether to keep a deferred pension, how much income protection sits beside sick pay, and how to sequence cash in the years before the State Pension begins.

Working approach

We listen first, gather documents second, and write third. Meetings happen at our St. Conn office or by video. You keep copies of every summary. If a recommendation is outside our remit, we say so and point you toward a suitable specialist rather than stretching the engagement.

People you may meet

Advisers and planners who spend more time with statements and forecasts than with slogans.

Values we hold to

  • Fees before work — never a surprise invoice for core advice hours.
  • Written conclusions you can share with a partner or solicitor.
  • Respect for existing workplace benefits before recommending replacements.
  • Honesty when a tidy consolidation would cost more than it saves.
